In a world that constantly exposes us to idealized images of flawless human perfection, it is not surprising that many of us struggle with our body image. This sermon series will focus on issues of body image and our perception of who God created us to be. We will consider if our thinking aligns with God’s intentions for each one of us.
We will begin this series with God’s intentionality in creating each one of us and being in relationship with us. There are no accidents, but instead we are intimately known and understood by God. This means the shape of our bodies and our perceptions of self should also begin with God. This starts with better knowing ourselves—where we are healthy and where we need to grow. How God sees us and how God views our lives should help shape our view and our perception of the body God has gifted us.
