• A good look at the end is essential for understanding the beginning.
• One of the loud messages we celebrate in Advent is that God keeps His promises.
• Jesus came lowly, but He will return exalted and be worshipped by all.
• At Advent, we celebrate the emptying of the God-man and His exaltation, and that at His return, He will make all things new.
1) To view the end at the beginning will make clear what it means to follow Jesus.
• Jesus was never looking for a crowd. He was looking for the committed.
2) Looking at the end teaches us how to live!
3) Looking at the end teaches us that to follow Jesus means to surrender everything to His Lordship in obedience and worship.
4) Looking at the end of all things teaches us how to live in hope.
5) A vision of the end of this age, and the beginning of the new age, teaches us to take our Christianity more seriously.
6) A great vision of the end of this age teaches us to watch and pray, so that we’re on the ready for the return of the King.
