I. REMEMBER YOUR FOUNDATION--Vs.17
Vs. 17 "But You....Remember your foundation!
What?==The Apostles Words
In vs.3 he said Contend for the Faith that was "Once and for all delivered to the saints."
The Faith==Christian Doctrine
Who Delivered It?==The Apostles
Ephesians 2:20 The Church is built upon the foundation of the Apostles and the Prophets!
Acts 2:42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching...
Revelation 3-4 Letters to the Seven Churches of Asia Minor
The Apostles Warned Us....
'beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.'' (1 john 4:1)
''but there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.'' (2 pet. 2:1)
''now the spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.'' (1 Tim. 4:1-2)
II. RECOGNIZE THE FRUIT OF APOSTATES
Matthew 7:1 – “Judge not, that you be not judged,”
John 7:24 – “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”
“Judge,” κρίνω (krinō), “to separate or make a distinction”
John 14:15 – “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Jude 18-19 – “They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” 19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.”
Four Characteristics
A. They Shame
“Scoffers,” = mockers, people who speak derisively or mockingly
B. They Satisfy the Flesh
Opposite of “self-control” (Gal. 5:23)
C. They Separate
v.19 – “It is these who cause divisions”
1 Corinthians 1:10 – “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.”
D. They Are Spiritless
III. THE RESISTANCE OF APOSTASY
A. Study
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith.”
B. Stand Vs.21 Keep yourself in the Love of God
Is This?
1. Keep yourself loving God?
Or
2. Keep yourself in God's Love.

If Subjective==It is God's Love To You
If Objectvie==Its your love toward God
Romans 8:35-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul says we are more than conquerors not because we Love God. But Because I know He loves me and nothing can separate me from His Love in Christ.

Statement: Stop trying to love God more and focus on how much He loves. you.
