Position of the World Changer
God positions each of us for His own good purposes. Daniel was in a difficult position, but God's purposes unfolded in his life in a beautiful way. We may not like our position, but we can have great hope. Today we will continue in Daniel chapter 2.

Sermon: Daniel Part 4 - Position of the World Changer
Everyone is encouraged to bring a Bible (Phone apps are good for reading together in the same translation. Study Bibles help with interpretation.)

1. Icebreaker question: What was your first job? What memories stand out from your time there?
2. The sermon was based on Daniel 2 and looked at how God positions us for His purposes. What do you remember about each of the main points? What impacted you most?
3. Read John 4:4-10
a) What does this passage show us about Jesus’ position during his earthly ministry (both spiritually and physically)?
b) Why did Jesus go through Samaria? (we might not know all the details, but see John 5:19)
c) The woman came to draw water at noon. What does this tell us about her likely position among the other women of her village?
d) What kinds of barriers did Jesus cross to speak to her? (see vv. 9, 18, and 27)
4. Read John 4:11-26
a) In what ways did Jesus zero in on this woman’s spiritual needs?
b) In what ways was Jesus gentle with her, and in what ways was he blunt?
c) What do you think the right balance is between gentleness and bluntness when talking with unbelievers about Christ?
5. Read John 4:27-42
a) Why do you think John mentions that she left her water jar behind (v. 28)? What is the significance of this?
b) According to Jesus, what is his food? What do you think he means by this?
c) How would you describe the woman’s spiritual position before and after meeting Jesus?
d) How would you describe her social position before and after meeting Jesus?
e) How did God use her to reach her “oikos”?
6. Why do you think God positioned Jesus at the well that day?
7. Where are you positioned? What purposes might God have for you in this?
8. Pray for each other’s needs. Ask God to use you in whatever position He has placed you in.
