Welcome to Eastern Hills Baptist Church
We are so glad that you decided to join us in worship today. Here at Eastern Hills we realize that we are all in different places on our journey with Christ, and that's okay. Whether you are a seeker, looking for answers, or a long-time follower of Christ, you are welcome here.
"Cessation of motion or action of any kind. Quiet; repose; a state free from motion or disturbance; a state of reconciliation to God"

Today's Points:

1. Rest in Conscience

2. Rest in Community

3. Rest in Christ

To find REST, to choose REST, we must be intentional to allow Humility to reign in our hearts and our eyes.
"For every time you say, 'Yes' to something, you are also saying 'No" to something else."

Kevin DeYoung-Crazy Busy
Tremper Longman writes in his commentary, Psalms the following about Psalm 131:2

“In unpacking this simile, one must explore the nature of the relationship between a mother and a weaned child. A weaned child can rest comfortably in its mother’s arms, while a baby who is not yet weaned is fussy and restless. Here the psalmist provides a picture image of the kind of trustful confidence that he is now experiencing”
Harmony: a fitting together of parts so as to form a connected whole.

J. J. Stewart Perowne says this about Psalm 133:3

“It is not the refreshing nature of the dew, nor its gentle, all-pervading influence, which is the prominent feature. That which renders it to the poet’s eye so striking an image of brotherly concord, is the fact that it falls alike on both mountains.”

Discuss these questions as a family:

-What does "Rest" look like to you? How do you choose to Rest?

-What "Yes's" are you making today that are saying "No" to your opportunity to Rest in Christ? How can you begin to change that this week?

-As a family this week, practice turning off all screens and being still as a family. No distractions outside the family. Play a board game, go for a walk or better yet, just sit together and talk about your day/week.

-Memorize Matthew 11:28 as a family.
