Conversation Starter
What’s one of the most beautiful things you’ve ever seen?
Begin your study with prayer
Pause for a few minutes to quiet your heart and mind. Then ask God for insight and direction as you study and reflect on this week’s lesson.
Bible Study and Group Discussion
Read Revelation 20:11-21:7.
1. John saw a great white throne. When you think of a large throne, what thoughts come to mind?
3. On what basis will people be judged? (See also 1 Corinthians 3:13-15).
4. How do you respond to the idea that God knows everything?
5. In what way will you have to give an account of your life?
6. How do thoughts about God’s judgment impact your relationship with Him?
7. What are specific ways your heart aches for the restoration of all things?
8. Do you usually look for hope in current circumstances or in thoughts about heaven?
9. How does the reality of heaven impact your life right now?
10. What do you imagine it’ll be like to live fully in God’s presence?
11. How often do you experience a deep longing for God as described in Psalm 42:1-2?
12. What are specific ways this week’s lesson will change the way you think and live?
Spiritual Practice
A spiritual practice is like training for the soul. If you build these into your everyday life, you’re sure to strengthen your relationship with God.

Our hope comes from salvation in Jesus and the promise of heaven, not in current circumstances. Read Romans 15:13 every day this week, and ask God to fill you with hope.
Memory Verse
And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of Him during your time as “foreigners in the land.” 1 Peter 1:17 (NLT)

Prepare for Next Sunday

Next Sunday, September 12, we’ll look at the Brookwood Church mission and purpose. To prepare, read Matthew 22:37-40, and pray that we’ll all grow in loving God and loving people.
