The premise of the series is that God, through His Spirit, is at work in and through to form the character and conduct of Jesus in our lives as disciples or followers of Jesus.
Reacquainting ourselves with the definition of TRANSFORMATION:
" a complete change, which under the power of God, will find expression in character and conduct" (Vine's Bible Dictionary)
"The process by which God forms Christ’s character in believers by the ministry of the Spirit, in the context of community, and in accordance with biblical standards."
Luke 19:1-10 NLT
BIG IDEA:
TRANSFORMATION confirms God's continuing work in our lives and reminds us that we can't fix other people.
>>> Intentional pursuit of spiritual curiosity about Jesus plants the seed of spiritual transformation.
Out of spiritual curiosity Zachaeus literally acted upon the statement - "To reach the fruit of a tree, you must go out on a limb."
>>> Spiritual Transformation through Jesus means we move from a self-centered life to a God-centered life.
"The greatness of a man is in direct proportion to the measure of his surrender." (William Booth)
Zachaeus received Spiritual Transformation delivered by a savior who looks up.
>>> Based on Jesus' Mission, everyone is a potential butterfly.
No one is out of the reach of God's love and acceptance.
