We are a family striving to be relevant, connected people, radically changed by the love of Jesus, impacting our neighbors, near and far with transforming truth and dynamic compassion.
The Challenge
It Starts with You
The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood.
John 1:14 [MSG]
Who is called to go into all the world and preach the gospel?
We are.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."
Matthew 28:18
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
Go and Preach the Gospel
The Gospel is of First Importance
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
I Corinthians 15:3-4
For Christ suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring us to God.
I Peter 3:18
The account of God writing Himself into human history.
Where are we to preach the gospel? Everywhere!
Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.
Luke 19:1-2
He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.
Luke 19:3-4
When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.
Luke 19:5-6
All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.
Luke 19:7
But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.
Luke 19:8
Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Luke 19:9-10
Why are we to preach the gospel?
Because God’s primary way of reaching people is through people!
Jesus: approached a lost sinner (19:1-2)
Jesus: approached a curious seeker (19:3-4)
Jesus: approached intentionally (19:5)
Jesus: approached relationally (19:6-7)
Zacchaeus: repented & believed (19:8)
Zacchaeus: was saved & rejoiced (19:9-10)

The Challenge
So, who is Your One?
How much do you have to hate somebody to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?
-Penn Jillette
God of life, you have taken what is dead and lifeless, and in Christ Jesus made us alive! You have taken us from the morgue of sin and death and through the mystery of your grace saved us and bestowed upon us the incredible gift of life in the Son, a claim to your kingdom which will outlast eternity. Give us boldness and conviction to be your voice and witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mold us as your creative masterpiece and pen us into the poem that for all the ages will declare your matchless praise.
