Fasting for Power
2 Chronicles 17:3-7
1. Jehoshaphat was afraid (2 Chronicles 20:1-4)
In his fear, the king ran to God for guidance.
All of Judah came together.
2. Jehoshaphat looked to the past (2 Chronicles 20:5-12)
The king praised God and looked to the past to gain strength amidst his present trouble.
Lord, we do not know what to do and we are powerless.
3. Jehoshaphat heard from God (2 Chronicles 20:15-19)
The battle is not yours but God’s!
They obeyed God and witnessed His salvation.
Fasting for power is the humble admission that I am powerless and must depend entirely on God for deliverance - however He sees fit.
