VBS Groundwork
| July 10-14 | 6-8pm | VBS is fast approaching and we need help! We are looking for crew leaders. No prep required - you just lead your group of 5 or 6 adorable children around to all the different stations and engage and have fun with them. Register to help or register your kids at Don't have the time? We also need supplies. Stop by the "station" in the lobby and grab a ticket or two. Buy it and bring it back, or, since we've learned about QR codes and Amazon Prime this year, scan the qr code and ship it straight to the church. Don't have the time or the supplies - pray for VBS. Lots of kids, lots of adults, and lots of God are needed. The first two are only human.

Baby Dedication
| June 13 | 10am | It is an amazing moment when parents get to publicly promise to raise their children with the knowledge of Christ and his ways, and we as the church get to pray for you and your child. Fill out a connect card for your child to be a part of this special time. There will be a short parent meeting after the June 6 service with Pastor Gene.

Interfaith Summer Grocery Distribution
Manteno Churches have banded together to help feed kids and families this summer. They will be doing a weekly grocery pickup for families and are looking for money to support this ministry. They are about 1/3 of the way through their $10,000 goal. Our Mission Council donated $500 of Faith Promise money and we would love to supplement this amount from individual donors. Check out their GoFundMe page,

Camp Scholarships
Schools out and camp is coming. Think back to your camp days - the singing, the services, the games, the freedom. Camp is still that awesome and is now even airconditioned! At around $200 a kid, it's gotten a little more expensive. Help a child (and parents) pay for camp so they can get that awesome intensive Jesus experience. Designate your money in the offering or online for "Summer Camp Scholarships."

Manteno Kids Summer Sports Days
In lieu of Sports Camps this year, Manteno Kids ministry is offering Sports Day Fridays. Bring a water bottle, equipment if you got it, and come join the fun. RSVP on the Manteno Kids Facebook group or email Pastor Amy, June dates:
June 18 | 10am | Soccer | Legacy Park | 1725 N. Maple, Manteno |
June 25 | 10am | Hockey | Legacy Park | 1725 N. Maple, Manteno |

The nursery is now open to children birth-2 years old. Please register your child in the main lobby and then take them to the nursery. It is open the entire service, beginning to end. If you would like to volunteer to hold babies, read stories, and occasionally change the stinky diaper, fill out a connect card.

Youth Group
Due to the mission trip, there will be no youth group on June 6, June 9, or June 13.

Van Support Driver
For the mission trip this week, the youth ended up having to rent vans from Chicago. At the end of the trip, they need to return those vans to Chicago. They are looking for someone willing to drive a personal vehicle up to Chicago to give the drivers a ride back. Contact Hannah Perry, to volunteer.

Church Vote
Last week's church vote to sell the empty lot passed unanimously.

Board Minute
Next Thursday (June 10) the board will meet with Dr. Larry McKain, Chicago Central District Superintendent. The purpose of this meeting will be to review an initial list of names to begin the process of interviewing a candidate to call as the next Lead Pastor for Manteno. During this meeting and the process that will follow, the board would greatly appreciate prayers for wisdom and discernment. Due to the nature of the process and the current leadership roles of each candidate, this will be a confidential process and the board will be very limited in what information can be shared. We will provide updates as we move forward. The congregation is an important part of this process. As mentioned previously, there are five key stakeholders that must agree on the calling of a new pastor. Those stakeholders are: the candidate, the Holy Spirit, the church board, the congregation, and the district superintendent. Once the board has interviewed a candidate and votes to invite the candidate to move forward in the process, that individual will be introduced to the congregation. The congregation will vote on the candidate before an invitation is extended to call our next Lead Pastor. Thank you for your support and prayers that you have already offered through this process.

Open Up the Heavens
Build Your Kingdom Here
Children's Sermon
O Come to the Altar
Come Thou Fount
Open Up the Heavens
Open Up The Heavens

Verse 1
We've waited for this day
We're gathered in Your Name
Calling out to You
Your glory like a fire awakening desire
Will burn our hearts with truth

You're the reason we're here
You're the reason we're singing

Open up the heavens we want to see You
Open up the floodgates a mighty river
Flowing from Your heart
Filling every part of our praise

Oo oo oo oo oo

Verse 2
Your presence in this place Your glory on our face
We're looking to the sky
Descending like a cloud You're standing with us now
Lord unveil our eyes

Show us show us Your glory
Show us show us Your power
Show us show us Your glory Lord

Oo oo oo oo

Build Your Kingdom Here

Verse 1
Come set Your rule and reign
In our hearts again
Increase in us we pray
Unveil why we're made
Come set our hearts ablaze with hope
Like wildfire in our very souls
Holy Spirit come invade us now
We are Your church
We need Your pow'r in us

Verse 2
We seek Your kingdom first
We hunger and we thirst
Refuse to waste our lives
For You're our joy and prize
To see the captives' hearts released
The hurt the sick the poor at peace
We lay down our lives for heaven's cause
We are Your church
We pray revive this earth

Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land
Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here we pray

Verse 3
Unleash Your kingdom's pow'r
Reaching the near and far
No force of hell can stop
Your beauty changing hearts
You made us for much more than this
Awake the kingdom seed in us
Fill us with the strength and love of Christ
We are Your church
We are the hope on earth

O Come To The Altar

Verse 1
Are you hurting and broken within
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin
Jesus is calling
Have you come to the end of yourself
Do you thirst for a drink from the well
Jesus is calling

O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ

Verse 2
Leave behind your regrets and mistakes
Come today there's no reason to wait
Jesus is calling
Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes a new life is born
Jesus is calling

Oh what a Savior
Isn't he wonderful
Sing alleluia Christ is risen
Bow down before him
For he is Lord of all
Sing alleluia Christ is risen

Verse 3
Bear your cross as you wait for the crown
Tell the world of the treasure you've found

Come Thou Fount (Above All Else)

Verse 1
Come Thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
Mount of Thy redeeming love

Verse 2
Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by Thy help I'm come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wand'ring from the fold of God
He to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood

Verse 3
Oh to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart Lord take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above

(Above) All else I adore Your name
Above all else tune my heart to sing Your praise
Above all else I adore Your name
Above all else tune my heart to sing Your praise

The highest praise
The loudest praise
To the name above every name
