Relationship Goals–Part 1
Trust. Forgiveness. Grace. Love. These are elements that every relationship needs to thrive. These are the qualities that we should embody towards one another. These are relationship goals. Many of us set goals for ourselves—but how many of us set goals for our relationship? Without a doubt, our lives can be significantly enriched when we connect in meaningful ways with others. But that isn't always easy to achieve. Intentionality and commitment are required if we desire those things. Throughout this series, we’ll explore what we can do to improve our relationships, continue to help them grow, and discover how we can achieve these goals together.

Relationship Goals—Part 1
[Josh Rhodes]
Problem | We tend to be selfish and miss opportunities to help others.
Solution | Focus on yourself less to focus on others more.
Selfless: concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with one's own; unselfish. –Oxford Dictionary
“The meaning of ‘selfish ambition’ may be rendered as ‘what they do is just to make themselves look bigger’ or ‘what they do is just for themselves.’” –Louw, J. P., & Nida, E. A. (1996).Greek-English lexicon of the New Testament
Selfless People
• Put others first and sacrificially meet their needs
• Do not seek credit for putting others first
Selfless People
• Put others first and sacrificially meet their needs
• Do not seek credit for putting others first
• Fill their cup to empty it for others
Filling | He got up, went out, and made His way to a deserted place. And He was praying there.
Emptying | So He went into all of Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
