Creed: Who Will Come Again to Judge the Living and the Dead... the Resurrection of the Dead and the Life Everlasting
Pastor Dave Pretlove
1. We wait ________ as we look forward to Jesus coming back.
2. With _______ ________ we await future judgement.
3. We eagerly wait with hope as we consider our _________ and the _____ ___________.
Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Questions
1. In Pastor Dave’s sermon, he said that we are to be expectant as we look forward to Jesus coming back. Do you find yourself expectant for His return?

2. Read Timothy 4:8. We will face judgment for our deeds. The way you and I live really does matter in terms of our eternal rewards. Do you ever think about this?

3. How does the thought that our deeds here on earth impact our rewards in heaven change the way you live your life?

4. Does it feel strange or even wrong for you to think about your heavenly rewards?

5. The way I live now affects where others will live forever. How are ways you live this out?

6. How can we live with more of an urgency for evangelism, discipleship, and missions?
Something to think about:
Meditate on Matthew 6:19-20. Do you find yourself thinking more about earthly treasures that are passing than heavenly treasures that are eternal? A really good illustration on this topic is Francis Chan’s Living Eternally. We included this in the resource section this week.
