Today’s Message. ”Life on Display”

Scripture Passage: Philippians 2:1-10

We're learning to live "resurrected-ly." God "raises" us to new life, then He puts us on display for the whole world to see what He can do in a life. Let's represent, friends!

1. Who are you/we outside of Christ?

a. “You were dead in your transgressions and sins.”

b. “You followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air.”

c. “All of us gratified the cravings of our sinful nature.”

d. “We were by nature objects of God’s wrath.”

2. Who are you/we in Christ?

a. “Because of his great love for us.”

b. “God made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions.”

c. “God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms.”

d. “That in the coming ages God might show the incomparable riches of His grace.”

3. Who are you/we today?

a. “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves.”

b. “We are God’s workmanship.”

c. “We are created in Christ Jesus to do good works.”

d. “God has prepared in advance what we should do.”

4. What are practical ways these truths play out in our lives?

How does Christ’s death, Resurrection & Ascension help us understand who we are in Christ? How does this encourage and challenge your relationship with God?

• What thoughts and images comes to mind when you think about being “put on display” for God? How does this notion encourage and challenge you?

What comes to mind as ways your life can display God’s grace? How might you help others understand Christ’s ongoing work in your life?

What comes to mind as ways your life doesn’t display God’s grace? What in your needs to change so you better represent God to others?
