Teachabilty is a combination of desire and willingness.

The steps towards becoming more teachable begins with two desires:
1. A desire to become better.
2. A desire to change.

Two types of Willingness:
1. Willingness to learn something new.
2. Willingness to relearn what you think you already know.

Desire to learn x willingness to change = our level of teachability.

3 roadblocks to teachability:

Roadblock #1: The roadblock of Pride

Roadblock #2: The roadblock of Fear

Common fears:
1. The fear of rejection
2. The fear of losing control
3. The fear of Change and the Unknown.

"Great leaders do the opposite of exercising control over others. Instead of taking all the control they give it away."
- Henry Cloud

Roadblock #3: The roadblock of Insecurity.

Two kinds of insecurity:
Insecurity roadblock #1- I feel Inferior
Insecurity roadblock #2- I feel Unworthy

Overcoming Insecurity:
Strategy #1- Embrace the fact that you have nothing to prove and no one to prove it to.
Strategy #2- Start believing that you belong where you are.
