Ask a question to get your group thinking.
• On a scale of 1 to 100, 1 being the worst of the worst and 100 being the best, how would you rate your own goodness in life?
Start Sharing
Choose a question to create openness.
• Why did you rate yourself that number? Share what brought your number down or up.
• How might your perspective on comparison change when viewed against God's holy standard?
• Why can't being "good enough" get you into heaven?
• Share some times where you asked for help in the "here and now" instead of asking for eternal help from God.
• What are some ways that you can put your full faith in Jesus' finished work on the cross as your justification for righteousness?
Start Praying
Be bold and pray with power.
• Father, I admit that I am not perfect and I admit that I am not "good enough." Thank You for providing a way through your Son, Jesus Christ, to be made right and whole in your eyes. Please help me to stop comparing myself to others and instead turn my focus to you, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen!
