Today we will turn our attention to families and the unique role families play in our fellowship.
Pray for fathers, mothers, and their children.
Romans 6:1-2 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’ […] Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”
Pray for families in which some are unbelieving.
1 Peter 3:1-2 “Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct.”
1 Corinthians 7:16 “For how do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?”
Pray for relationships between husbands and wives.
Ephesians 5:22-26 “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her […]”
Pray for widows, widowers and those separated from family.
James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
Pray for families in crisis and families with ill or aging family members.
Job 1:20-21 “Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. […] The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Worship through Giving
As God has so richly blessed us in Christ may we be faithful to use our resources for Him
Operation Kindness reflects a cooperative desire by areas churches to bless the community with the joy of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We would like to give 1000 Easter buckets to children in area hospitals, shelters, and senior adults in nursing homes the week preceding Easter. You can assist us in the following ways:
1. Pray that lives will be transformed by the Gospel. An age-appropriate gospel tract and a blessing card directing them to the website www.jesusforgenesee.com. will be in each bucket.
2. Purchase a variety candy that we can put in the buckets. It doesn't have to be Easter candy per se, but it does have to be packaged candy. Unfortunately b/c of the pandemic restrictions no home made treats will be accepted. Please have the candy at Bethany by no later than March 21.
3. We will fill the buckets on March 23 at Bethany. If you can help us on that day for either the whole day or a portion of it, we will be grateful for your help.
If you have any questions about how you can participate, please feel free to contact us.
