The life of a Christ-follower is not like a passive lazy river ride. Rather, it is more of a white water rapids adventure! Life on this side of heaven will be full of difficulty, conflict, and suffering, even if we follow Jesus. In fact, we may face an even greater degree of struggle because God's enemy is now our enemy. However, we can experience victory in living for Jesus. In this series, we will examine Ephesians 6 as Paul instructs us to put on the whole armor of God in order to stand firm against the spiritual warfare we face.
REALM FAMILY INFO UPDATE • We are transitioning to a church software database called Realm, which allows us to keep track of all kinds of important information regarding folks who attend and call Friendship home. In order to help better serve you, and to help us connect with one another better, would you help us update you and your family's information? For the next several weeks, we will distribute Family Info Update cards for you to fill out for us. You can also complete the form
online at www.friendshipwired.com. Thanks for your help in this!
NEW TO FRIENDSHIP LUNCH • On the last Sunday of this month, we will be hosting a lunch for those newer to Friendship (and those who have been around a while but haven't attended a lunch). These take place at Pastor Andrew's house immediately following our second service. It's a chance to meet some other folks, learn about our church, and ask questions. Sign up at www.friendshipwired.com.
“People in Paul’s day believed that organs such as the heart and the liver were the center of affections. Emotions, such as joy and anger, originated in these organs. The apostle Paul used this understanding, unscientific though it was, to teach important spiritual lessons. He said believers must put on the breastplate of righteousness to protect the vital parts of the inner man and its faculties against the attacks of Satan.”
“This is our spiritual breastplate. If we are not constantly mindful of our righteous standing in Christ or if we are not striving to live righteous lives by God’s grace, we become easy targets for the adversary.”
-Brian Borgman & Rob Ventura ("Spiritual Warfare")
