OVERVIEW
We start the sermon series on the Book of John with one of the most profound truths of the Christian faith, “the Word became flesh and made his home among us.” These opening words in John resonate a theme throughout the whole Gospel and all of Christianity. While the other Gospels focus on what Jesus did or said, John’s focus is on who Jesus is. How can a perfect and all-knowing God, who is so vast above us, be able to experience deep and close relationships with his imperfect and mortal creations? God bridges the gap by making a home with us, coming in the flesh to be near us and to be one of us. And by believing in Jesus as the Son of God, we might have life—abundant and eternal life.
