As we engage online through social media platforms we ought to pray that our social media presence would embodies the truth and transformation of Gospel.
Pray that the Lord would be pleased by our online presence.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” (Ps 19:14)
Pray that we would communicate the Love and Grace of Jesus online. “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” (Eph 4:29); “Speaking the truth in love.” (Eph 4:15); “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” (1 Co 13:1)
Pray that the quarrelsome spirit of our age would not pollute our online communication. “Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers.” (2 Ti 2:14.)
Pray that we would recognize that men and women are created in the image of God as we communicate online. “With [our mouths] we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God… My brothers, these things ought not to be so." (James 3:9–10.)
Pray that we would not fall into the sins of idleness and gossip as we engage online. “For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. 12 Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.” (2 Th 3:11–12)
Pray that our online presence would embody and proclaim the Gospel. “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” (Col 4:5–6.)
Worship through Giving
As God has so richly blessed us in Christ may we be faithful to use our resources for Him
As we approach Easter we will be partnering with other local churches to proclaim the love of Jesus to families. Information will be forthcoming regarding how you could give to provide baskets to families in our area whose newborns are hospitalized in area NICUs. Please be praying about how the Lord might use us to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Genesee County.
If your child is interested in pursuing being baptized or learning more about believer’s baptism we are looking to begin another class on the topic of baptism. If your child is interested please connect with Pastor Jonathan or Traci Wass.
We host a prayer gathering on Sunday at 9:00 am each Sunday in the Upper Room. We would like to encourage you to attend as we seek God’s will across a variety of different topics, issues, and concerns. Please make a plan to join us next Sunday!
