Mark 1:15
“Repent and believe the good news!”

Μετάνοια - a change of mind
especially the change of mind of those who have begun to abhor their errors and misdeeds, and have determined to enter upon a better course of life, so that it embraces both a recognition of sin and sorrow for it and hearty amendment, the tokens and effects of which are good deeds-Thayer's Greek Lexicon

A change of mind and heart that leads to a change of behavior

3 Parts of Repentance
Confession of guilt
Promise to change behavior

Godly Sorrow
No Regrets
Eagerness to clear yourselves
Indignation (at continuing to sin)
Alarm (at the effects of your sin)
Longing (for a holy life)
Concern (at tolerating sin)
Readiness to see justice done

Worldly Sorrow

Luke 23:34
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

Acts 2:36-39
36“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”37When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”38Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord

Ezekiel 14:6
This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!”

Discussion Question
Take some time to reflect or discuss the following questions with your family:
If you could get one RE-DO in life, what would it be?
