Elijah’s Life in the Valley
1 Kings 19:1-8

I. Consider Elijah’s plight.
A. Elijah’s obedience to God angered some powerful people, verse 1-2.
B. Elijah was afraid and ran for his life, verse 3.
C. Elijah is more concerned about saving himself than serving God.
Life lesson: When you walk by sight, you will lose the fight!

II. Consider Elijah’s pain.
A. Elijah is overcome with fear, verse 3.
B. Elijah is overcome with fatigue, verse 3-4a.
C. Elijah is overcome with futility, verse 4b, 10.
Elijah is totally exhausted; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
III. Consider God’s provisions for Elijah.
A. God provided sleep, verse 5.
B. God provided food and water, verse 6.
C. God provided a mission for Elijah, verse 7-8.
