Real people finding real hope and experiencing real life has a deep meaning to us at Cross City. It’s the story of us. It’s the process we’re going through and the process we want others to go through as well. At the heart of it is the word REAL, which is an important distinction to us. We hear constantly about people trying to “live their best life.” People will seek it, but since God designed us to be in relationship with Him, we’ll never find the best life until we find the only source of real life out there! It’s in HIM!Looking for the best life you can possibly have? It’s only found IN HIM! So this word “real” is how we start, and it leads us to our core statements and strategy. We must start by being authentic, genuine, caring people who realize relationships with our God and with those around us.

Matthew 22:35-40
One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
John 10:10
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
These “core value” statements are not a set of statements that we have obtained—but they are the biblical priorities that we are constantly pursuing.
Core Value #1
We are biblically devoted to following God.
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.” v. 36-37

John 8:32
…and you will know the truth, and the truth will make your free.
John 14:6
I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness…
Would you say that you are “devoted” to Scripture? Does it have an important place in your daily life?
Core Value #2
We are relationally connected to God.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. v. 37
God desires that we each be relationally connected to Him and He makes it possible for us to do that through Jesus Christ.
Is your connection to God awareness, religious or relational?
Core Value #3
We are intentionally compassionate in loving others.
The second is like it, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” v. 39
John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
How do you intentionally love others who are not exactly like you?
