Divided Hearts of America
Expand
The Light & Life Ministry invites you to attend the pro-life documentary Divided Hearts of America on Friday, January 22, at 6:30pm in the First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary. This 90-minute film, produced by football star and pro-life advocate Benjamin Watson and his wife, Kirsten, explores the topic of abortion. Watson frames the film as a “search for truth.” In his talks throughout the U.S., he passionately states, “Our nation is being torn apart; heated debates are raging like a wildfire across this great land. We’re fighting over culture, race, religion, science, social justice, and politics.” Yet he focuses on one issue—abortion—seeking to find how we can be united in a common cause. Plan to join us for this FREE event! Local ministry resource tables will be available 6:00–8:30 pm. A brief discussion with experts will follow the film. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?
2. Read Ephesians 5:15-17. How can I keep a close watch on my thoughts, attitudes, and behavior, consistently seeking to glorify God?
3. Read 1 John 1:8-9. How can I live “clean” and not fall into the trap of sinful pride?
4. Read Psalm 103:10-14. How can I have faith in God’s cleansing in order to be freed from Satan’s accusing thoughts?
5. How can God use your past to help people who are struggling with similar issues?
6. Praise and repentance go hand in hand. Let’s get ready for the journey God has for us!
