ThornCreek Kids Ministry strives to walk alongside and equip parents to be spiritual leaders in their children’s lives. Our hope and prayer is that with a strong faith foundation, kids will make the decision to continue growing as Christians, and become Christ-like disciples.

Our age-level classes allow us to reach children at their developmental level, so that by God’s grace they will be able to comprehend to the best of their ability, the topics we are covering in church!

All Ministry Partners (over the age of 18) have passed background checks, and all Bridge Team members (6th-12th graders) are supervised by adults.

UPDATE: In order to be safe, with COVID cases on the rise in Colorado and in our community, we are going to have youth group online for the near future. At this point, we are unsure how long we will be online.
Please hear our heart, as this is not an easy decision for us to make because we know how difficult this is and how it will affect your family. We understand that there are strong opinions for both sides of this pandemic and whether or not we should be in person. However, we, as a staff, need to listen to our convictions and do our best to make the best decision possible with the information we have in front of us.

We will be meeting online every Wednesday night from 6:00pm-7:30pm. We have found that starting youth group at 6pm and ending at 7:30 has been more convenient for kids because they can have enough time after youth group to get any homework done that they need to.

The plan moving forward is to continue using the zoom format. This format worked very well last week, so we will be doing the zoom format for the near future and we will NOT be recording and posting youth group to I will be sending out the zoom link every Wednesday morning, so students can click the link and participate in youth group. I will also be texting it out to all students weekly.

Please encourage your kids to attend and be part of youth group, even though it is online. I know its difficult for them since they are online all day for school, but it is very important that our youth ministry stay connected during this time. We NEED each other! Your kids NEED to be in contact with each other and they need the Word of God so much right now. We want to have the best youth ministry that we possibly can, and we work hard to provide the Word to your kids in a way that relates with them.

ThornCreek Student Ministries mission is to create a safe place for students to encounter Jesus, ask questions, process struggles and to experience the love of God while ultimately integrating them into the body and mission of Jesus Christ.

ENCOUNTER | Wednesday 6:00pm-7:30pm (SEE UPDATE ABOVE)
This is our midweek Youth Group service. At Encounter, we have food, games, deep Bible study, student led worship and small groups. We believe that we are better when we are together.

SOUL FUEL | Soul Fuel was our Sunday Morning program for Middle and High School Students. We have decided not to start Soul Fuel back up again. The reason behind this is that we ultimately want to connect Jr. and Sr. High students to the greater body and mission of Jesus, which is, His Bride. We feel that it is absolutely essential in the spiritual development of teenagers to be comfortable with, involved in and in love with The Church as a whole, not just the youth ministry. When we offer a youth group only class at Church, we are seperating teenagers from the greater Body of Christ. The main concern with doing this is that teenagers never really get connected to, or engaged into "Big Church". The problem with this is, when they graduate from High School, they often feel like there is no place for them in the church anymore... They feel like "Big Church" is only for adults, and they feel like they no longer belong anywhere. We want to change this problem in the life of the church. We believe it is not only healthy for teenagers to worship with all ages, we feel like it is essential for their faith development.

“I believe the biggest problem with humanity today is trying to fill an internal void with external things.”
- Michael Todd

“It may be the case that Christians are assimilating to a culture of busyness, hurry and overload, which leads to God becoming more marginalized in Christians’ lives, which leads to a deteriorating relationship with God, which leads to Christians becoming even more vulnerable to adopting secular assumptions about how to live, which leads to more conformity to a culture of busyness, hurry and overload. And then the cycle begins again.”
- Michael Zigarelli
“I cannot live in the kingdom of God with a hurried soul.”
- John Ortberg
“To walk with Jesus is to walk with a slow, unhurried pace. Hurry is the death of prayer and only impedes and spoils our work. It never advances it.”
- Walter Adams
“The peace which Christ gives is infinitely more valuable than that which the world gives. The world's peace begins in ignorance, consists with sin, and ends in endless troubles; Christ's peace begins in grace, consists with no allowed sin, and ends at length in everlasting peace.”
- Matthew Henry
A restless mind is the enemy of a peaceful life.
GREEK: EIRENE (eye-ray-nay)
“Shalom (peace) refers to something that is complex, with lots of pieces, that is in a state of completeness or wholeness.”
- The Bible Project
