Our budget is made up of two income streams: tithe/offering and rental income. Our rental income comes from Narcotics Anonymous, Mother's Against Drunk Drivers, Pathways of Arizona, and Sprint. As we approach the end of 2020, our total income has decreased about 25% overall. This decrease began in June and has continued through now. This will leave us about $10,000 short in our tithe/offering for the year and about $17,000 overall.
God is faithful.
We received a gift from our network of churches that covered Adam's salary for the months of June and July. This gift made it possible for us to pay all of our bills, support our missionaries, make CarePortal deliveries, and purchase the equipment necessary to live stream our services without making any more severe cuts to our budget.
Our expenses have changed though since March. We have not had our normal expenses with events like Vacation Bible School, potluck lunches, and other in-person meetings. Dustin voluntarily gave up his pay in April, as we were unable to have the youth group meet or have children's ministry for several months. He will continue as a volunteer for now, and the majority of the scheduling and planning for children's ministry will be done by Adam and the children's ministry volunteers. We have currently stopped expenditures beyond bills and payroll in order to compensate for the decrease in income overall.
Our playground shade project is almost fully funded! We have currently received $9,975. The company that is installing the shade has begun the permitting process, and we are close enough to the total cost that they will begin installation in the next 6 weeks.
It's the last week of our session 2 of our Zoom small groups. Dr. Tony Evans has a wonderful study of the names of Jesus. Groups meet Sunday at 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (The Wednesday morning group will continue their study.)

Each week, we learn about and pray for another church in Tucson.
The Journey Church
Pastors Jim Roden & Rick Simpson

Tucson, AZ 85718
What is something unique or descriptive about your church?
JR: We are a disciple-making church that seeks to think like, love like, and live like Jesus. We are unique in our externally focused mission to our city as well as our inclusive model of disability ministry.
RS: We are especially blessed to have a vibrant ministry with special needs adults called Friends For Life. Encourage your friends to check it out!
What is happening within the church that you are excited about?
JR: Pastor Jim is approximately halfway through his sabbatical/study leave of absence. He is diligently working on completing his doctoral degree through Biola University. The staff is doing a tremendous job of leading and innovating during his leave of absence! We are also in the process of a national search for a senior associate pastor as we prepare Journey Church for the next decade of post-COVID-19 ministry.
RS: We are excited about our family worship services that take place every Sunday at 10:30.
What are one or two prayer needs within the church?
The health and vitality of the staff, ministries, and congregants during this COVID-19 season and pastor Jim’s sabbatical/study leave of absence. A fantastic hire for the senior associate pastor position. As with many churches these days, keeping up our connections with one another is a challenge. We are hosting our Friends for Life Night to Shine in February. Prayer needed for our leaders of the event to be creative in making this really special in light of health and safety due to the virus.
