The Good Life | Eager To Do Good
We all want to be "good" people; good parents, good friends, good husbands and wives, good citizens. But what does it really mean to be "good"...and how do we get there? Join us for a life-changing study of the book of Titus and find God's heart for the good life.

Welcome to Mission Hills!
Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free gift.
Am I living in a way that's worth looking up to?
Live in a way that lines up with the Gospel.
Model what you want others to mimic.
Who am I most frustrated with right now and is what I'm modeling part of the problem?
Then they can urge the younger women… (Titus 2:4a)
You can't demand what you haven't displayed.
Am I demanding something I'm not displaying?
...to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands... (Titus 2:4b-5a)
Don’t let the world’s version of the "good life" distract you from the truly good life.
Are there any cheap imitations distracting me from the real thing?
so that no one will malign the word of God. (Titus 2:5b)
How am I making it easier for someone to reject the Gospel?
In everything set them an example by doing what is good. (Titus 2:7a NIV)
In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us. (Titus 2:7b-8 NIV)
Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted... (Titus 2:9-10a
…so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive. 11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. (Tit. 2:10b-11)
Our eagerness to do good makes the Gospel attractive.
Four ways to become more eager to do good:

1. Pray a dangerous prayer: Lord, help me want what I should want.
2. Put people in our lives who make us more eager to do good.
3. Participate in a church that reminds you constantly that we're here to do good.
4. Remember what's at stake.
