Gateway Church
Gateway Church (Parkesburg Campus) November 15, 2020
Welcome to Worship with the GTWY Church Family! We began the 2020 year by learning how to be UNASHAMED of the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST! Through ALIVE, and just recently PROMISE KEEPER, we have learned multiple facets of THE GOSPEL through the 1st 11 chapters of Paul's Letter to the Romans. NOW...it's time to put all of that rich theology into practice. "Now What" is the series that will help us unpack Romans 12-16, and put this good theology into ACTION. This WKND we reach the final chapter of Paul's letter. How does he wrap up his expression of THE GOSPEL? Be prepared...to meet multiple brothers & sisters in the church, from the 1st century [In the Year of Our Lord] & learn from their lives about what THE CHURCH should be all about in 2020.

“Adam was not lonely because he was imperfect, but because he was perfect. The ache for friends is the one ache that’s not the result of sin…. God made us in such a way that we couldn’t even enjoy paradise without friends--human friends. Adam had a perfect “quiet time” everyday, for twenty-four hours a day. Yet, still he needed friends…
…If you are lonely, you aren’t dysfunctional, you’re healthy. You’re lonely because you’re not a tree. You’re lonely because you’re not a machine. To need deep spiritual friendships is not a sign of spiritual immaturity, but of maturity. It’s not a sign of weakness, but a sign of health.”

-Pastor Tim Keller
The Gospel celebrates identity in Christ, regardless of opposition.

TTP: Threads To Pull

As I reflect on The Gospel… am I convinced that in life, or in death, God is ABLE to sustain me?

What does God see in my life as evidence of my maturity in Jesus…that proves my love & connection to His body, the church?
