Sovereign Over Us
Aaron Keyes, Bryan Brown, Jack Mooring

There is strength within the sorrow
There is beauty in our tears
And You meet us in our mourning
With a love that casts out fear

You are working in our waiting
Sanctifying us
When beyond our understanding
You're teaching us to trust

Chorus
Your plans are still to prosper
You've not forgotten us
You're with us in the fire and the flood
Faithful forever perfect in love
You are sov'reign over us

You are wisdom unimagined
Who could understand Your ways
Reigning high above the heavens
Reaching down in endless grace

You're the lifter of the lowly
Compassionate and kind
You surround and You uphold me
And Your promises are my delight

Even what the enemy means for evil
You turn it for our good
You turn it for our good
And for Your glory
Even in the valley You are faithful
You're working for our good
You're working for our good
And for Your glory
(REPEAT)

Faithful forever perfect in love
You are sov'reign over us

Cornerstone
Edward Mote, Eric Liljero, Jonas Myrin, Reuben Morgan, William Batchelder Bradbury

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name
(REPEAT)

Chorus
Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour's love
Through the storm He is Lord
Lord of all

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

He is Lord Lord of all

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne

CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1) What stood out to you from the sermon?

2) How does being a Christian help you tell a better story than the stories you see and hear lived out elsewhere?

3) What do you have to lose by telling the story of God’s judgment and salvation to those around you? How can we become more courageous in telling this story?

4) What is your initial response to hearing about God’s wrath? What disturbs you or comforts you when you hear about the wrath of God?

5) What are the ways we are tempted to respond to evil, and why is waiting for God’s judgment better?

PRAYER
• After you have spent time talking through Conversation Starters, pray together as the Spirit prompts you about your discussion.
