Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery
Matt Boswell, Matt Papa, Michael Bleecker

Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
In the dawning of the King
He the theme of heaven's praises
Robed in frail humanity
In our longing in our darkness
Now the light of life has come
Look to Christ who condescended
Took on flesh to ransom us

Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
He the perfect Son of Man
In His living in His suff'ring
Never trace nor stain of sin
See the true and better Adam
Come to save the hell-bound man
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law in Him we stand

Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
Christ the Lord upon the tree
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory
See the price of our redemption
See the Father's plan unfold
Bringing many sons to glory
Grace unmeasured love untold

Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
Slain by death the God of life
But no grave could e'er restrain Him
Praise the Lord He is alive
What a foretaste of deliv'rance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when He comes

My Victory
Darren Mulligan, David Crowder, Ed Cash, Hank Bentley

You came for criminals
And ev'ry Pharisee
You came for hypocrites
Even one like me
You carried sin and shame
The guilt of ev'ry man
The weight of all I've done
Nailed into Your hands

Oh Your love bled for me
Oh Your blood in crimson streams
Oh Your death is Hell's defeat
A cross meant to kill is my victory

Oh Your amazing grace
I've seen and tasted it
It's running through my veins
I can't escape its grip
In You my soul is safe
You cover ev'rything

Behold the Lamb of God
Who takes away our sin
Who takes away our sin
The holy Lamb of God
Makes us alive again
Makes us alive again
(REPEAT)

Oh a cross meant to kill is my victory

CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1) What stood out to you from the sermon?

2) It’s no secret that Revelation is a confusing book. During this sermon series, has the book of Revelation become a little clearer? In what ways have you come to see it as more relevant to your life?

3) In the sermon, it was pointed out that our first allegiance is to the values and ethics of the kingdom of God. How would political engagement, social media, and our workplaces be different if Christians consistently displayed the values of the Kingdom?

4) Read Revelation 7:15-17. How does this glimpse of heaven give us hope to endure suffering today?

5) Similarly, how does this vision of Jesus as sovereign over all things encourage you when you feel like things are out of control?

PRAYER
• Have each member of your group spend a few minutes sharing about their week, make note of any areas of joy or concern.

• As you pray for one another, feel free to mix it up; pray as a whole group or pair up and pray in smaller groups. Another idea is to pray for each person immediately after they share.

Title: The Seven Seals
Scripture: Revelation 6-8
Speaker: Reid Kapple, ReidK@ChristCommunityKC.org
“The scope of Revelation deals with all the events of world history commencing with the death and resurrection of Christ and concluding with his final return. The events recorded in it will recur throughout human history and thus remain relevant to readers of all times.” -GK Beale
>> How do we endure the sadness?
- Submitting to the Sovereignty of our King
- Pursuing the Praise of All Peoples
- Trusting in the Triumph of Our Suffering
“Revelation calls Christians to a difficult discipleship of discernment...that may lead to marginalization or even persecution now, but ultimately to a place in God’s new heaven and new earth...Faithful non-conformity is not absolute withdrawal but rather critical engagement on very different terms from those of the status quo.” -Michael Gorman, Reading Revelation Responsibly
