Mission Hills Church
Thrive | Anatomy of a Power Prayer
What does it mean to follow Jesus in a culture that thinks faith itself is irrelevant? And how do we live by faith in a culture that thinks the very question marks us as out-of-touch and out-of-step with the modern world? As fresh as this issue might feel right now, the truth is that God’s people have always faced this same dilemma. Join us as we find insight and encouragement for this all-important question from the book of Daniel.

Welcome to Mission Hills!
Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free gift!

Father's Day Weekend | June 16 + 17

Fatherhood is nothing if not an adventure, and each turn in the road brings new challenges. Join us this Father’s Day as we share stories of family, faith, and God’s goodness in the midst of it all.

Daniel 9 can teach us how to pray consistently and effectively.
What was it about this prayer that caused God to answer it so quickly?
Over a period of 490 years // broken into three stages // the rebellion of Israel will come to an end.
For God’s people, there is always a countdown clock on our suffering.
Again: what was it about this prayer that caused God to answer so quickly?
Power prayer responds to God’s perfect character.
Power prayer responds to God’s perfect character.
Praising God’s perfect character aligns our prayers with God’s nature and desires.
Unconfessed sin hinders our prayers.

“If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” (Psalm 66:18)
Power prayers focus on God’s glory.
Power prayer trusts God for our good.
We thrive when our prayers respond to God’s character, focus on God’s glory and trust Him for our good.
2. Recognize what it says about God’s character
3. Respond to God’s character with praise and confession
4. Request things that will give God glory
Questions for Further Discussion:

1. What steps will I take to learn more about God’s character?

2. What can I do to develop a clearer focus on God’s glory?

3. How can I focus on God’s glory in the things I’m praying for right now?
