Is He Worthy
Andrew Peterson, Ben Shive

Do you feel the world is broken
We do
Do you feel the shadows deepen
We do
But do you know that all the dark
Won't stop the light from getting through
We do
Do you wish that you could see it all made new
We do

Is all creation groaning
It is
Is a new creation coming
It is
Is the glory of the Lord
To be the light within our midst
It is
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this
It is

Is anyone worthy
Is anyone whole
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's Root
And the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
Is He worthy
Is He worthy
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy of this
He is

Does the Father truly love us
He does
Does the Spirit move among us
He does
And does Jesus our Messiah
Hold forever those He loves
He does
Does our God intend to dwell again with us
He does

Is anyone worthy
Is anyone whole
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's Root
And the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
From ev'ry people and tribe every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests
To God to reign with the Son
Is He worthy
Is He worthy
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy
Is He worthy
Is He worthy of this
He is

Is He worthy
Is He worthy
He is
He is

The Lion and the Lamb
Brenton Brown, Brian Johnson, Leeland Mooring

He's coming on the clouds
Kings and kingdoms will bow down
And every chain will break
As broken hearts declare His praise
For who can stop the Lord Almighty

Our God is the Lion
The Lion of Judah
He's roaring with power
And fighting our battles
And every knee will bow before Him
Our God is the Lamb
The Lamb that was slain
For the sins of the world
His blood breaks the chains
And every knee will bow before the Lion and the Lamb
Every knee will bow before Him

So open up the gates
Make way before the King of kings
The God who comes to save
Is here to set the captives free
For who can stop the Lord Almighty

Who can stop the Lord Almighty
Who can stop the Lord (Almighty)

CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1) What stood out to you from the sermon?

2) Read Revelation 4-5. (Read it slowly. Take your time.) What image most strikes you about this scene? Why do you think that stands out to you?

3) Was there a time you were moved by an experience of the power and beauty of God? Talk about that experience with your group (where it was, what was going on in your life, what that has meant to you.)

4) Our response to this vision of John should be worship. In what ways has this pandemic interfered with your ability to worship? In what ways has it enhanced your ability to worship?

5) Revelation 4-5 details what makes Christ worthy to receive our worship. In your own words, what makes your heart long to worship Christ? What makes Christ worthy of your devotion and allegiance?

PRAYER
• Spend time sharing with one another your burdens and where you sense you need God’s presence.

• Spend time thanking God for the sacrifice of Christ, that makes Him worthy to open the scrolls and begin God’s work of salvation in the world. Ask God to make His presence and salvation known to one another in your burdens this week.

Title: The Victory of the Lamb
Scripture: Revelation 4-5
Speaker: Nathan Miller, NathanM@ChristCommunityKC.org
"In the day-to-day trenches of adult life, there is actually no such thing as atheism. There is no such thing as not worshipping. Everybody worships. The only choice we get is what to worship. And an outstanding reason for choosing some sort of God or spiritual-type thing to worship...is that pretty much anything else you worship will eat you alive.
If you worship money and things — if they are where you tap real meaning in life — then you will never have enough. Never feel you have enough. It’s the truth. Worship your own body and beauty and sexual allure and you will always feel ugly, and when time and age start showing, you will die a million deaths before they finally plant you. Worship power — you will feel weak and afraid, and you will need ever more power over others to keep the fear at bay. Worship your intellect, being seen as smart — you will end up feeling stupid, a fraud, always on the verge of being found out. And so on."

"Look, the insidious thing about these forms of worship is… that they are unconscious. They are default-settings." - David Foster Wallace
>> Worship will kill you or fill you
"Then Hwin, though shaking all over, gave a strange little neigh and trotted across to the Lion. "Please," she said, "you're so beautiful. You may eat me if you like. I'd sooner be eaten by you than fed by anyone else.”
- C.S. Lewis, The Horse and His Boy
