Who was Eli?
>> A Godly Priest of God
>> Samuel’s Mentor and Guardian
>> A Generationless Grandfather
Eli’s Parenting Fails:
>> Passivity - 1 Samuel 2:12
>> Compromise - 1 Samuel 2:13; 27-29
>> Failure to Discipline - 1 Samuel 3:13
Learning from Eli’s Parenting Fail:

1. Pray for and lead your children to personal faith in Jesus Christ. 1 Samuel 2:12

2. Lead your children to respect the things of God. 1 Samuel 2:13, 27-29

3. Correct, Discipline, Rebuke, Restrain your children when needed. 1 Samuel 3:13
The Promise of Discipline: The answer to three Questions on the heart of every parent, is answered by faithful discipline:

1. How do I show my love to my children? Proverbs 3:12; 13:24

2. How do I assure the success of my children? Proverbs 19:18; 22:15

3. How do I assure a peaceful relationship with my children? Proverbs 29:17

4. How do I assure my children are productive and peaceful? Hebrews 12:11
How Can I Begin A Relationship With God?
1. Admit that you’re a sinner & ask God to forgive you.
“all have sinned & fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just & will forgive us our sins & cleanse us from every wrong.” 1 John 1:9
2. Believe that Jesus died to pay for your sins & that He is alive today.
“if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ & believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
3. Accept God’s free gift of salvation. Don’t try to earn it.
“For it is by grace you are saved, through faith — & this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9
4. Invite Jesus Christ to come into your life & be the Leader (“Lord”) of your life.
“to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, He gave the right to become children of God” John 1:12

Worship through Giving

God desire for us to give regularly, sacrificially, & cheerfully. Giving helps our hearts affections. Jesus said, "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" Luke 12:34. Giving also assures that the Gospel continues to spread through the Church (Ephesians 3:10).
