We are excited to have a group of ladies join us again this summer. They have always been a blessing to us through music and working in VBS and the Nursery. You can be a blessing to them by:
- Providing a Sunday meal
- Bringing in items: cereals, snack foods, bottles of water, detergent, paper towels, toilet paper. Drop them off in the back of the church.
Godly Women Characterized by…
- Hannah faced a long list of challenges: "In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.”
- Hannah's story shows that godly people are not exempt from trouble, but respond to difficulties by trusting God.
- Hannah was infertile.
- Hannah knew where to go, she poured out her concerns to God and trusted Him for the results.
- Hannah prayed so fervently that Eli thought she was drunk.
- Hannah asked God to give her a son.
- She knew where to go with her problems.
- She promised to turn him over to the priests to be raised.
- She promised to bind him with a Nazarite vow from the time he was born.
- “And she said” (responding to Eli) “‘Let thy maidservant find favor in thy sight." So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.” She could eat now, and she wasn’t sad.
- Why? Because she had patient faith; she gave it to God.
- This is true faith: true faith doesn’t pray, “O God, here’s my problem” and walk away in utter frustration. True faith says: “I trust You.”
- In due time, God granted her request and she gave birth to a son.
- Hannah remembered that God is in control: She praised Him.
- Our children need to see us as people of integrity.
- She not only dedicated herself to the child, but she also dedicated her child to the Lord.
- Our children need to observe us demonstrating honesty and integrity.
Conclusion:
- First of all, ask yourself, "Am I a godly mother?" Are you a godly mother? Are you preparing to be a godly mother?
- To you young people: are you honoring your mother? Are you obeying your mother? If God has given you a godly mother, God has given you the best of gifts.
