Mistakes are a part of life…but they need to be dealt with.
If we leave our errors unchecked we run the risk of long term damage.
In the scriptures we see a picture of humanity dealing with a sin problem. The challenge is presented not to give in to sin, but they keep struggling anyway.
Thankfully, God knew this would be an issue so He inspired writers to explain the process of redemption to us.
When we sin and error and can’t just “undo” our way out of it, we find ourselves at odds with God. It's not that He can’t stand us anymore, it’s just that our disobedience causes brokenness in a good relationship.
We need to be cleansed and forgiven, and God in His kindness and mercy offers that to us.

But it doesn't end there.
Many times our mistakes and errors have big consequences because they involve other people we are in relationship with
Beyond just having our sins forgiven by God, which is important, there is another EQUALLY IMPORTANT action to take.
In Jesus’ mind, it’s more important that we make things right with those who have issue with us, than it is to worship God…that’s the order: reconcile THEN worship
In reconciling with others, the best thing we can do, is own it.
Owning our mistakes WITHOUT adding an “even though…” or a “but you said…” is a gift that only comes with spiritual maturity.
-Mistakes are a part of life and we can’t just “cmd + z” our way out of them

-God is faithful to forgive us of our sin as we confess to Him

-When our mistakes involve other people, we need to go to them and make it right
