Significance of the number three in scripture:
3 Patriarchs before the flood (Abel, Enoch, and Noah)
3 Patriarchs after the flood (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob)

3 items in the Ark of the Covenant (Bowl of manna, Aaron's rod, and 10 Commandments)
