God's Story - Our Story: God's Plan for the Family
God's Story - Our Story is a series that will take us through the overarching narrative of the Bible. Throughout this series, we will fight against the common idea that, "I can't understand the Bible," or " I can't read the Bible for myself." Instead, we will be empowered to see the overarching purposes of redemption, love, and the glory of God, throughout the Old & New Testaments, and begin to see our story in God's story.

God does not always prescribe what the Bible describes.

“Not made out of his head to top him, not out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.” — Matthew Henry
“The first to apologize is the bravest.
The first to forgive is the strongest.
The first to forget is the happiest.”
3. Spend your best resources on family.

1. What was the biggest takeaway for you after listening to Adrian's message about family?

2. Read Genesis 2:18-25 & Matthew 19:1-6. What is the basis for the family? Why is this Genesis passage so significant?

3. Skim Genesis 24. What seems to be positive about this arranged marriage? Even if we don’t arrange our kids’ marriages, how can we have positive input in who and how they marry?

4. Read Genesis 32:3-15, then 33:1-20. What key steps lead to the family reconciliation between Jacob and Esau after years of estrangement?

5. Which of the three prescriptions resonates most with you right now? How will you apply that?

6. Read Ephesians 5:15-21. How might living by the power of the Holy Spirit lead to better marriages and families?

7.Pray for one another for the commitment and strength to live that way.
