Prove It: Zeal for God
Zeal is not difficult, nor is it easy. It is not complicated or difficult to be passionate and zealous. Many with no facts, education or training are very zealous. They may or may not be zealous for the right things, but passion is not lacking in people who are passionately wrong. But zeal is also not easy. True zeal requires you to go beyond the comfort level of those around you to take risks for something that matters to you more than your comfort. Are you a Christian? Are you zealous for God? This week we will look at godly zeal and not just passionate opinion.

This program addresses all types of habits and hurts, not just recovery from alcohol and/or drug issues. It is a "large umbrella" program that addresses a number of issues. The 12 steps tie historical recovery to timeless Biblical teaching. Order your materials at the church office.

Ash Wednesday Service
Expand
February 14th
6pm
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline.
Ash Wednesday emphasizes two themes: our sinfulness before God and our human mortality. The service focuses on both themes, helping us to realize that both have been triumphed through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
During Ash Wednesday service, ashes will be lightly rubbed in the sign of the cross onto the foreheads of worshipers. This ash cross is an outward sign of our sorrow and repentance for sins.
