The life of a Christ follower is not about avoiding difficulty but successfully walking through it.
How do you face problems when they come your way? How do you press through difficult seasons and overcome the challenges of daily life? For the Christ-follower the answer is clear. You have to Word Up!
Let me read the Urban dictionaries definition of this phrase.
I comprehend what you are saying and verify that your statement is true.
When we “agree with” and “act on” God’s Word, it will build us up, lift us up and ultimately set us up for winning our race.
Agreeing with God’s Word and applying God’s Word is the key to winning in life.
When we “agree with” and “act on” God’s Word, it will build us up, lift us up and ultimately set us up to win.
Where does the phrase “The truth will set you free” come from? Actually, it’s origin is the bible but the quote is constantly miss quoted. That not exactly what the bible says.
“Literally, “my teaching” is “my word.” This is an active, not a passive, activity. To “hold to” the word means not only knowing the truth, but living it.”
What does applying the word in our lives look like? Here are some examples for 3 key areas in each of our lives.
Here are a few examples of how God wants us to think.
· The way we think determines the way we feel and the way we feel determines the way we act.
When we “agree with” and “act on” God’s Word, it will build us up, lift us up and ultimately set us up to win.
Our words can either build up or tear down. They can encourage or discourage. They can move us away from faith or closer to faith.
1. Our Money
There is a principle found in God’s word that says, Your mind will think on and your heart will follow what you treasure the most.
The word of God refers to us as stewards or managers of God’s money. We don’t own it we just manage it.
A true understanding of stewardship will cause you to ask God how much of His money would He like for you to give to ONE*, The Gift, ONEx, hungry children or youth ministry.
I encourage you to become a good manager of what God has given you. Be generous. Some of you operate in giving 10% of your monthly income to God.
What percentage is God asking you to invest weekly or monthly toward building His Kingdom?
That’s a very practical example of “agreeing with” and “acting on” God’s Word.
Word up! Winning is all about applying God’s Word in our lives.
When you face difficult times run to God’s Word. His Word will guide you and see you through.
Are you applying God’s Word in your decision making, in your marriage or with your children?
When we “agree with” and “act on” God’s Word, it will build us up, lift us up and ultimately set us up to win.
