First UMC of Laurel
We all need hope. As fans - we often have hope - even unreasonable hope - that the home or our favorite team will somehow prevail. Hope is something we all need. Hope in the midst of difficult times is significant. Our hope is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

What do we hope for this year?
aim at nothing and we’re bound to hit it
What do we hope to accomplish?
Have we made promises that others are hoping we will fulfill?
What are the reasons we suffer?
First - we suffer because of our foolish choices
How many of our troubles are self-inflicted?
Second - we suffer because we live in a fallen world
Satan is still running rampant
Third - we suffer when our faith is being tested
Forth - we suffer when under God’s discipline
At times what seems like trouble is really the discipline of the Lord
King Zedekiah had imprisoned Jeremiah for his prophecies
Jeremiah spoke of a restoration
The Davidic dynasty came to an end
Jeremiah's prophecy offered hope
There will be times in our lives when we will be tempted to believe that God has forgotten and forsaken us
