Life Group Questions:
1. Would people that know you consider you a control freak? Do you have to be in control? Do you like being in control? Why?
2. Read Genesis 12:1 like God is speaking to you right now. (Just verse 1) Would you go? What would your questions be? How would you feel? (Abram was 75 when God spoke these words to him.)
3. Verses 2 and 3 give us a clear indication of who is in control of the plan. Who is it? Was Abram ok with that? What was Abram’s role?
4. When Jesus went to the cross He was laying out the plan, who was in control of the plan? What was your role? So now that you are on this journey of faith, where did you try and grab control? (name specific areas or situations… don’t be vague)
5. How can we guard ourselves from wanting to take over control?
6. What’s at stake for you when you choose Control over Surrender?
7. Why does God require our surrender for a relationship with Him?
