Albright Church
The Invitation
The inside story is that invites to the banquet prepared by Jesus are not for insiders; they are all for outsiders who know they need grace.

As you pray through these 6 areas, use this prayer guide to help your daily prayer focus all week long

Give thanks and pray:

Worship Through Giving

Giving back to God is a regular expression of worship, gratitude and praise.  See our giving options. Offering Prayer: God thank you for everything that you have provided to us. We give back to you as an expression of worship, gratitude, and praise for who you are. You are a good good father. Thank you that through this challenging time, we are assured that we do not need to worry, but trust that you will provide for our needs. Help us to be generous with what you have given, and lead us into opportunities to bless and serve others with the resources you have given to us. In Jesus' name. Amen

Read Luke 14:15-24

On one occasion when Jesus was invited to a function He noticed how the guests would look for the most important seat at the top table.
When Jesus saw this He told a parable. It could be called, “The parable of expectations.”
The inside story in this parable is: stop expecting to get noticed to prop up your pride. Instead expect to sit in the stalls to honour others above yourself.
Someone sitting at Jesus’ table heard this and said, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the Kingdom of God.”
Jesus tells another parable. This time it could be called, “The parable of excuses.”

The inside story is this: Don’t assume you can play fast and loose with Jesus’ invitation into a relationship with Him.
The invitation from your Creator and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, is worthy of your full attention and acceptance.
Don’t think that because you feel like you don’t fit in that you are not invited to come and feast with Jesus. None of us fit in. We are joined together by Jesus Christ!
You might not have the right connections but you do have a personal invitation to connect with the host.
“All those the Father gives me will come to me and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” John 6:37
All who come are there because of God’s grace alone. All who are there make room at the table for others.
