The second Sunday of Advent reflects the theme of peace. As we remember the birth of Jesus Christ and look forward to his coming again, the need for His peace is clear in our lives and in the world.
1 Samuel 8:1-22 NIV
1. We want what others have. (v.1-9)
2. We forget that everything comes with a price. (v.10-18)
3. God prepares us for something different. (v.19-22)
4. Jesus is a different kind of King. (John 1:1, 14; 19:19)
Challenge for this week: Pray the words of Psalm 139:23-23, Matthew 11:28-30 and Philippians 4:4-7. As you do: confess sin, celebrate God’s blessings and commit to a change.
