Things have changed in this world, and not for the better. Or have they changed?
I’m going to start today talking about stats and such, world numbers… but don’t worry. I’ll state the problem – which is a worldly one, and then the solution, which is a spiritual solution.

· Lack of economic opportunity and employment

Myth: Hard to get a job. That’s why live with parents into 20’s.
· People make more money per hour, even adjusting for inflation, than ever.
· We have more work opportunity, work less hours for more money at lower unemployment than ever.
· Working is safer than ever. Over 100 people died building Hoover dam in
· Safety / security / wellbeing

What about mass shootings? Yes, they are up. But they still only account for 2% of gun deaths per year – which are still overall declining.

This is the safest time to live in all of American history!

· Lack of education

Access to learning and education has never been easier and as all encompassing as it is today!
· Food and water security

· Access to clean drinking water is higher in the world than it’s ever been in all history.
· Government accountability and transparency / corruption

Today if a politician leaves a small tip, it’s all over the internet and news. For better or worse, Government accountability and transparency is at a record high.
· Health and Medical Insurance

Right now we run about 11% uninsured in the US.

Today if you have cancer, the survival rate is almost 70%.

People live longer, healthier lives today than ever before in recorded history.
· Quality of living/Income

We have more money and more leisure time than ever in the history of the world.

Before, you worked all the time. Sunrise to sunset, just to survive. The kids worked too, and there was very little schooling.
· So.. that’s a lot of facts and charts… And If this really is the greatest time to live, why do I feel so discontent about how the world is going? And what does the bible have to say about all of this?
So yes, we can gain hope for the future when we realize that our trials today have, “been there done that!”

Not only is it a wonderful life today, but with God in your life, and by intentionally living biblical principles, we can really enjoy the fullness of what God has blessed us with today.
And the minor challenges we experience today are actually good spiritual proving ground for us.
Colossians 2:6-7 TLB
And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him, too, for each day’s problems; live in vital union with him. Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all he has done.
But what if you or a loved one does suffer a horrible disease? Is life still wonderful?
It’s a wonderful life, and we have God!
Eternal life? How can we put life verses eternal life into perspective if we cannot comprehend infinity.

· If we change our perspective to an eternal one, the worries of life will shrink into a Godly perspective.

Be intentional about seeing the wonders of this life.

. I can Appreciate my life, my relationships, my job, my future… without having to lose it first.
Start our celebration of life today!

Become intentional : The bible tells us how to live in this short life we have, to look for His works, his blessings, and his promise for our future.
