Mission Hills Church
IMagINe | A Tradition Worth Keeping
According to Ephesians 3:20, God is able and eager to do far more than we could ever imagine. He wants to work in us and through us, bringing hope and transformation to a broken world. Join us from October 21 to November 12 as we explore God’s plan for the local church and what this looks like for Mission Hills here and around the world.

Welcome to Mission Hills!

Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free drink at Peakview!

Making Room for Them to Belong

IMagINE

We believe that the people of God should always let their celebration of what God has done stir up anticipation of what He’s doing next. When God led Pastor Craig Smith to Mission Hills just a little over a year ago, it was immediately clear to him that God’s great work in and through Mission Hills over the past 75 years was just laying the foundation for our next great adventure with Him. In order to maximize our ability to build on this foundation for the purpose of transforming lives, period, we are launching a new initiative we are calling Imagine. The goal of Imagine is to raise the necessary resources to extend our ability to reach people for Christ on local, regional and global levels. On the local level, we are planning for a new on-campus venue (for a Sunday “classic” service as well as weekend space for students), an expanded lobby/connection center and the extension of our worship center. On the regional level, we are planning to extend ministry at the Life Center and launch multi-site church plants here in Colorado. On the global level, we are looking to expand one of the critical ministry facilities of our partners in Poland. We will be digging into more details about each of those areas over the next four weeks.

BIBLE DRIVEN
One of our core values as a church is that we are Bible-driven. That means we don’t make plans and then attach Bible verses to them. We are driven to our plans and strategies by what God says to us in the Bible.
That’s in interesting statement:this palatial structure is not for man but for the Lord God.

The Temple was a reminder of God’s presence and a focal point for God’s work.
A church building is like the Temple in at least those two respects:

1 // It is a reminder of God’s presence, and
2 // A focal point for God’s work.
The best leaders lead by going first.
Giving to God’s work is giving to God Himself.
The next step in this model is to rejoice at the willing response of our leaders.
1 // Anything we give to God we’re actually giving back.
We can’t give God anything that wasn’t already his to start with.

2 // Giving to God is an act of worship.
At its heart, worship is the act of recognizing who God is and responding accordingly.

3 // Giving to God and his work is a privilege.
Focus on what is being accomplished through your giving. Lives transformed, darkness defeated, hope dawning.

Transforming Workshops

Prayer doesn’t come naturally to most of us—even Jesus’ disciples asked him to teach them how to pray. In this 5 week workshop, we’ll read and discuss “Power to Change” by Daniel Henderson to discover how to communicate with God in a way that transforms our lives.

Helping Children in Need

Operation Christmas Child

Imagine the joy of a child in a third-world country opening a box filled with toys and gifts! The tradition of giving continues with Operation Christmas Child at Mission Hills as we collect small toys and personal items to fill shoeboxes to send to needy children overseas through Samaritan’s Purse. We will distribute empty shoeboxes on the weekends of October 21/22 and October 28/29. (while supplies last). You may also use your own box and pick up a label (indicating what gender/age group the gift is for). Filled boxes will be collected November 11 – 20. Volunteers are needed to pass out and collect boxes during worship services.
