The Parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus
Luke 16:19-31
In the future, there will be a great reversal.
There are only 2 eternal destinations: Heaven and Hell.
Hell is eternal destruction.
“Hell, then, is the trajectory of a soul, living a self-absorbed, self-centered life, going on and on forever.” Timothy Keller in The Reason for God
Hell is banishment from the presence and influence of God.
Hell is God’s loving response to humanity.
Hell is the greatest monument to human freedom.
People choose to be in Hell.
“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.” C. S. Lewis in The Great Divorce
The main difference between these two is that one made God his help, while the other did not.
