Jesus has always been the same and always will be the same. One of the things I want us, the people of Renovation Church, to learn from this is the principle that God has been faithful to us before and will be faithful to us again.
Think about how faithful the Lord has been in our story. The idea that we are talking about building a 25,000 square foot church building seems crazy to me. Just 8 years ago, I was sitting across from people at Perkin’s, Culver’s, or you name it, trying to convince them to join our launch team of a new church that I promised wouldn’t fold in the first year! And yet, God was faithful!
Just 3 years ago, we set out to raise $500,000 in “above and beyond giving” for land, and it seemed like SO MUCH money! And yet, God was faithful.
It was almost one year ago to the day that our Board and Land Team sat down in my basement and drafted our very first offer to the people who sold us our land. It seemed like an impossible thing that they would come down from their price. And yet, God was faithful! The price dropped by more than $600,000 during our negotiations!
And if God has been faithful throughout all of these stages of the life of our church, I have to believe that He will continue to be faithful in the future. We might not know exactly how He will do it, but He will indeed be faithful! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
