Things That Go Bump in the Night (pt.2: Sort of, Kind of, Maybe)
Things That Go Bump In The Night – Spiritual Warfare Series Whether we choose to fight or not, there is an invisible war raging all around us. It’s a war of monumental proportions with enormous implications for our lives. The only way to win this war is to understand Satan’s schemes and to engage the battle at hand by putting on the armor of God. Alone we can’t fight this type of war, but with the power and provision of God, we can overcome. “Things That Go Bump In The Night” is an eight message series on Ephesians 6:10 – 20 that informs and empowers us to successfully fight the invisible war that rages around us every day.

Things That Go Bump in the Night
Pt. 2: Kind of, Sort of, Maybe
Pastor Todd Bush
Ephesians 6:14a
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…
1. We Must BELIEVE The Truth.

“Pilate…summoned Jesus and asked him, are you the king of the Jews? Is that your own idea, Jesus asked, or did others talk to you about me? Am I a Jew? Pilate replied. Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What is it you have done? Jesus said, My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest...But now my kingdom is from another place. You are a king, then! said Pilate. Jesus answered, you say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth…What is truth? retorted Pilate.
John 18:33-38a
WHAT IS TRUTH?

1.Are There “Fixed” Truths In Life? (Mt. 16:1-4).
2.Are There “Fixed” Spiritual Truths? (Jn. 14:5-7; 17:13-16).
2. We Must LIVE The Truth.

In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need…Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:26-28, 31-32
CONSEQUENCES OF NOT LIVING THE TRUTH

1.Your Relationships Are Compromised (Acts 9:11-14).
2.Your Effectiveness Is Compromised (Exodus 2:13-15).
3. We Must SPEAK The Truth.

“But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all; either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
Matthew 5:34-37
