The Spirit-Led Church
Sermon Notes for Sunday, October 15, 2017
On the Day of Pentecost, about 3000 men and women repented of their sins and committed their lives to Jesus Christ. A new church was formed as men and women turned from their former way of life and embraced the Jesus way. The early church was devoted to the apostles teaching, to the fellowship of believers, to living life in interdependence and to prayer. This radical commitment was accompanied by works of the Spirit that brought awe upon all who encountered the church. So committed to each other were they that no one had need. People gave sacrificially so that the needs of all could be taken care of. The church had such a radical love for each other and for God that they me day by day. And, God added to their number daily. This sermon will examine what God did and examine how God is still at work doing similar things in His church.

Right now, approximately 489 children and youth in Minnesota foster care are waiting for adoptive families. Minnesota also has more than 5,000 churches and God has given clear commands for Christians to take care of His orphan children. So if the command is clear and the need is apparent, why are these kids still waiting? Even if you're not called to adopt, we can all do something!
Join Focus on the Family, Every Child Every Church, as well as church and adoption leaders from around Minneapolis on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Shiloh Temple. You'll hear more about the kids who are waiting, the process of foster care and adoption and ways you can be involved in supporting adoptive and foster families. In addition, agency and county representatives will be on site to answer questions and help you get started.
Attend this city-wide event and explore what the Lord may be asking you to do. Together the body of Christ can ensure that no children in Minnesota are waiting for someone to call mom or dad.

Online Giving

Woodbury Community Church is dedicated to making more disciples for Jesus Christ across the street and around the world. Your financial support helps make that a reality! It takes a lot to do the work that God has called us to do. We seek to be wise stewards of every dollar that God brings in. As a congregational church, there are no secrets in how we manage the funds that people give. Our congregation votes on the budget every year. Our board of Elders, elected by our congregation, reviews our financial reports every month.
Thank you for your generosity as we seek to take the message of Jesus Christ to the world.
By clicking on the online giving link below, you can register to make a secure online donation or set-up automatic giving.2 Corinthians 9:6-7: "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
