Feeling Worthy When You’re Not
Think back to the last time someone honored you. Did you feel worthy? When we don't it is hard to appreciate the gift of the honor bestowed on us. What if that person honoring you had first helped you feel worthy of the honor? How would that have changed your experience? That is what God does for us at the communion table. He tells us how to receive in a worthy manner because of His love and grace.

Healing Steps with Jesus
Healing Steps with Jesus is a Christ-centered program with foundations firmly established in Biblical truth. The 12 steps with accompanying Scriptures and the 8 principles based on the Beatitudes offer participants a clear path of salvation and discipleship; bringing hope, freedom, sobriety, healing, and the opportunity to give back one day at a time through Jesus Christ. This program addresses all types of habits and hurts, not just recovery from alcohol and/or drug issues. It is a "large umbrella" program that addresses a number of issues. The 12 steps and the 8 principles work seamlessly together, tying historical recovery to timeless Biblical teaching. Order your materials at the church office.

Update from Myuge, Uganda
Funds raised from our Water Walk went to a project in Uganda of which they have just completed the baseline report of the village so that they know what are their needs of WASH (Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
Here is a synopsis of what the team has learned:
-- 88% of households own their own latrine with 98% of population using a latrine (the other 12% of households share a latrine with other households). The 2% is mostly made up of children under 5 because of a cultural belief that the children’s teeth will develop slower.
-- Only 2% of households have a place to wash hands with soap (or ash) and water, while only 38% knew that handwashing helps to prevent diarrhea.
-- One in five children under the age of 5 in Mayuge has had diarrhea in the past week. Diarrhea is a leading cause of death for young children worldwide.
-- On average, children missed 2 of the last 10 days of school because of illness, and families reported making 2 trips to a medical facility in the past months to treat illnesses.
- 47% religious institutions are Animist shrines.
- 46% of regular religious attendance is at local mosques.
- 85% of respondents believe God cares deeply about them and their families.
Cutting EDGE is funded by faith promises which can be made at any time of the year. Cards can be found at guest services and can be placed in the offering plate.
-- Funds raised are used at the donors choosing.
-- You can donate for a specific project or missionary of your choosing or help fund outreach that Cutting EDGE is facilitating.
