Chestnut Ridge Church
As Christians, one of the most powerful and underutilized resources we have is prayer. The New Testament writer James wrote, "You have not because you ask not." God invites us to talk with him about everything we face in life! He is a Father who loves to give good things to his children. But often, we are like the disciples of Jesus, who said to him, "Teach us to pray." We don't know how to pray or what we should pray about. This message series is titled, Ask. Let's explore together how amazing prayer is and how we can grow more effective in prayer.

Plan to Pray
This week's take away is:
Plan to Pray
ASK series take aways:

• God allows things to come our way so that we will turn to him and pray.
• If Jesus needed to pray, how much more do we?
• Prayer doesn’t work; God works when we pray
• Stop, drop and pray
• God doesn’t always change our circumstances when we pray; he
sometimes changes us
• The P.O.W.E.R. of prayer
That Peter prayed morning and evening may be assumed, for those were normal times of prayer. In addition he prayed at noon. Prayer three times a day was not commanded in the Scriptures, but Peter followed the example of pious men before him. Peter wentup to the roof to pray; this would have given him privacy.[1] - Toussaint, S. D.
